Pretty sure ts a tech issue. Since 2015 more people are using the internet on mobile devices than on desktop PCs, so a forum, using phpBB which apparently has zero Mobile-First capacity and - judging by the sites footer - is also out of development since 6 years, is simply not something many new people will still be interested in using. You can also see that over the years less and less pwNPD have been showing up here, I'm pretty sure theres a connection - aside from people with manic/grandiose disorders usually not showing up on self-help places anyways.
Personally I've been here less and less due to my own development, being in third year of therapy, my life has become more and more filled with "normal" stuff and my interest in being in some sort of psych bubble is really low.

The final blow seem to have been the closing of ASPD forums. A lot of people with Cluster B traits, who played well together, were driven out of Cluster B boards. I did not grasp a heft of reason behind that.

It does not help that individuals with narcissistic traits or moderate NPD were treated harsher (brutally sometimes) than people incapable to play well with others.

More specifically, NPD being a disorder looking to devalue, debase out of envy, advice from NPD individual to another individual with narcissism isn't always well-intentioned or meaning. Other Cluster B forums have had no issues accommodating a bunch of strong personalities at once. But on NPD board, there is always the one individual starting to feel entitled to the whole of existing supply on the board.

This would not have been an issue if a confident moderator had been named to help the difficult members ease in sharing the attention while allowing other individuals with narcissism to breathe. But it's people stoking the flames of divide, regardless of their recovery arcs or lack thereof, who were named instead.

Because of the absence of transparency, there is no way to know why this trajectory was never corrected. My imagination fails me too and I can't think of a good reason.

I can only helplessly witness Psychforums stumble on its own incompetence and toxicity. At the end of the day, Cluster B knowledge is technical, particularly NPD with its self-defeating counterintuitiveness, and it should not be hard to fathom why it is dangerous for amateurs to play God.

(Merry Christmas :) )

True that. There IS a mobile-friendly version in the works, and it looks very modern, compared to the current iteration of PF; but it's been a slow uphill journey to the transition. Hopefully things will uptick, once that is in place.

Tell someone you love them today, for Life is short. But scream it at them in Klingon, for Life is also terrifying and confusing.

We do not delete posts.
Let it go.
Without (forum) rules, we all might as well be up in a tree flinging our crap at each other.
