Embrace your terribleness.

Put it to good use.

Signed up for therapy, had an initial assessment and then the global cough came and it seems my opportunity for therapy has now gone.

I'd love to be able to sit and talk about myself to a stranger for an hour a week. But knowing me I'd embellish it all with magic and would get absolutely nothing from it.

Some therapists offer phone and videoconference based therapy - the latter at least might be an option to look into, eventhough my therapist has always told me that at least in the first phase of treatment, patients with narcissistic illnesses need some real person where the withdrawn perception can kind of break itself in (not sure if this makes sense in english).
From what I've hread from others here over the years the hardest problem is having the tolerance for frustration and willpower to see it through long enough.

Yeah I got a phone call today from therapist offering phone sessions whilst the lock downs in place. So I've arranged for my first appointment.

I feel like my Therapist is talking down to me/babying me at times. It bothers me and when this happens I can’t talk to them anymore. I’m sure they are trying to be encouraging but I can’t escape the feeling they think I’m incredibly stupid and incapable of actually doing anything for myself.

Had my first ever session today by phone. I actually sat on the curb outside my place. Not what I expected when I signed up but it went pretty well.

I've decided that the only way forward is to take control of the whole situation. It won't work if I allow her to tell me about me.

I'm actually starting to come around to what you are saying now.

I've only been to one session and even though I did enjoy talking about myself for an hour I've came away with the understanding that I'm actually going to gain absolutely nothing from the process.

She's not going to help me because I'm not really willing to change.

I just like a captive audience and she's perfect for the job.

I could do without all that left wing hippy $#%^ nonsense though.

I've never found therapy to be of any use.

Court-ordered isn't therapy; it's assessment designed to fit you into a box. No therapist I've ever spoken to has ever understood the main thought process behind the behaviour.
I'm not arguing; I'm explaining why I'm right.

I'm being referred to a specialist in ptsd.

The therapist I am seeing was quite honest in telling me that she's not qualified to deal with my complexities.

She's quite nice too.
