I am looking to lose some belly weight. I am pretty content, with the rest of my body all the weight seem to go right to my belly. Is running, an effective way to decrease my belly fat.

No doubt running is best cardio exercise.It is helpful in losing weight and gaining fitness.The whole body got positive effect from it.It burns calories quickly.Running is good for many other diseases like heart and lungs issues.

yes, it's helpful but also depends on other variables such as what you eat, how much, what you drink, stress and how sedentary you are. In regards to stress supposedly it releases cortisol which contributes to belly fat. In addition to running it's a good idea to work in weight training to build muscle which helps in burning calories.. with running/cardio when your done it's stops there, with weight training you get a longer calorie burn which extends past your workout session as the muscles begin to repair themselves..

Running, jogging and walking all burn the same number of calories per mile.

The only difference is how long it takes you to accomplish the distance.
