Hi,

I am feeling a little anxious with everything going on in the world. I was subscribed here many years ago, and I am fairly regular to being socially isolated, but felt like this might be a good time to at least hear how others are feeling. Somehow it will be reassuring to me that I am not alone.
I have PTSD, Bipolar Disorder, and Panic Disorder.

Have a great day.

I am feeling fine. I am shocked when I go to the store, it is like I have stepped into Bernie's World of Socialism, but am safe once I remove myself from the insanity.

Weba!

Glad to see you back and hope things are well with you- and like NSR said, it's always a pleasant thing to see a purple name pop up!

When I was 15 or so I discovered forums. This was when I got my first laptop. I browsed alone in my room. Up until then...I'd used the internet on the family computer since I was 12 but not a lot. Newgrounds, rotten, that sort of thing.

When I was 18, I discovered my first social anxiety forum. It wasn't this one, but it was a revolution in my life. And it became an activity I would put in 5-10 a day on easily. Maybe I'd only comment once or twice a day but I would lurk.

And here I am..in my thirties...I don't know how active these places still are. This one seems to be used more by Europe and the UK. Why am I here? Posting comment #893233532351632 on one of the may sites I've been to?

I just want to tell someone. I have AvPD. I'm a really homely looking woman. I never really felt socially acceptable.

I wish I never tried therapy. Or meds. I wish I just ran away from home when I was 18 although I would feel sorry for my family. We're estranged now. If I knew that eventually one day I would become a complete recluse (aside from work) and no one would care how educated I was, or if I could look at people's faces, or if I could be a pleasant person to be around there are so many things I would do different.

Hello, and welcome!

PF members are mostly from The Anglosphere, since English is the mandated language; then from the other areas of the globe save Antarctica, in no particular order, although I'd wager Western Europe has an edge in numbers. I'm from the US.

We're not as hoppin' as we used to be, and for some reason 2020 was extra quiet- you'd think with so many people in forced lockdown, we'd have seen an uptick. But we still here! We're eventually expecting a long-awaited upgrade to a more modern version of forum software, that will really freshen the experience.

I would say we have a fair number of AvPD members, though not always posting in that forum. I can think of one regular blogger as well. I... probably could be diagnosed as having strong AvPD traits, among God knows what else.... You're in plenty of good company, here. :)
