I have heard that Clozaril can give a schizophrenic their life back. I am on Olanzapine. I made a doctor-approved med reduction back in February, so since then my positives have resurfaced a little bit. When I was on a higher dose I had no positives. I was also on Sarcosine by BrainVitaminz for a little while, which seemed to help with my negatives and cognitives. But maybe the real reason my negatives and cognitives were improved was because I have Paranoid Schizophrenia and not Hebephrenia. Negatives and cognitives are much more prevalent in Disorganized Schizophrenia, which I had for ten years. I slowly transitioned to Paranoid Schizophrenia, which is the sub-type with the best prognosis.
Anyway, is Clozaril really the best antipsychotic? I know that there are weekly blood tests for white blood cell count for the first six months. Sometimes I wonder if I still have remnants of Disorganized Schizophrenia. It's because sometimes I feel like I cannot absorb and retain information. Lately it's been better, however.
