How do you overcome lethargy?

Postby dc28 » Sun Apr 15, 2018 12:18 pm

Would really help me to hear others' experiences and what they do to fight it? Recently I feel exhausted, and I'm not sure it corresponds to my mood dropping these past few days or sleep patterns being messed up (I can't sleep at night because nighttime is so quiet and I think about things a lot) It's not just tiredness like sleepiness, it feels physical like moving out of bed is tiring. Can't even get the motivation to do things I like doing. I'm on medication but I genuinely forget to take it when my mood is stable. How do you cope with this? Family say get outside and exercise, which is probably good but feel too physically run down to do so. Thank you for reading and sharing any experiences you overcome

You might want to start with a complete physical to rule out anything that could be easily remedied. I had blood tests done recently and am now on high-dosage vitamin (D3) supplements to try and bring some low numbers back up. I normally take a multivitamin/multimineral and an aspirin before bed anyways.
It could be a simple answer and it may not be all in your head. Your physician can refer you to a specialist for other tests, if necessary.
Some warmer weather would help my outdoor activity.
Best of luck to you. :D

I feel your pain. I have had constant battles with lethargy for the last few years. This is what has helped myself:

1. Cut out caffeine completely.
2. Take a longish walk in the early evening (I hate exercise and am no gym addict).
3. Eat plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables.

Good luck,

Jill.
