Question Regarding Psychology and Neuroscience

Hi, this is just a random neurological/psychology question that I had. Does anyone know if the hypothalamus plays a role in evaluating emotional stimuli? Or does the cerebral cortex play this role? I am not sure which one is correct.

Only one of these answer choices is correct - the other is incorrect. This is not an open-ended question, as you must pick either A. Hypothalamus or B. Cerebral Cortex

Hypothalamus/amygdala are supposed "emotional" centers but, more contemporary school of thought is that, due to neural projections, the brain effectively working with greater complexity incorporating many regions - not isolating to one.

As least that's what I've heard....
