Having tomato soup tonight. Real thick tomato soup. And chunky. Gonna just pour it over some pasta. It might as well be marinara sauce. Actually it is marinara sauce. I can call it tomato soup if I like. It's really not all that different. What's the big deal? A tomato is a tomato. I'll call it what I like. ###$ you.

I was in a deli sandwich place yesterday. The woman in front of me placed her order -
"I'll have a meatball sandwich with provolone, toasted, hold the meatballs."
hold the meatballs?

I watched the sandwich maker spread really thick garlic spread on a roll, then add marinara sauce, then the cheese, and finally put it in the oven for a bit.
Suddenly the shop was filled with the most delicious smell, like garlic bread and fine spaghetti rolled into one.

When it came out of the oven, the woman said "Now pack it full of baby spinach and toss some olive on it."
When she left with her sandwich, the shop still smelled of so much warm garlic that I could barely get my own, now-boring, order out.

I'm freezing. I'm going to go buy some clam chowder takeout, with warm bread. Wish I had that garlic spread.

You say tomato, I'll say tomaaaato...

That marinara stuff cuts a road right through me.

I absolutely love garlic. I could kiss the face off anyone who stinks like garlic.

I read that if you eat a lot of garlic you start to smell like garlic, but only a very little bit. It works kind of like pheromones and supposedly makes you more sexually attractive to others.

When we was kids and we used to sleep rough. One of us had a packet of dried powdered soup.

Hahaha ha.... It was freezing cold January as I remember and we were so hungry.

We were keeping warm in the stairwell of a block of flats just outside the city center and out of sheer desperation we knocked on someone's door. A lady answered. The good woman mixed the soup in a great big bowl and gave us all a spoon each.

It was like piss water and we had no bread but I can remember us all sat round this massive stainless steel bowl like starving dogs fighting over croutons and noodles.

Christ!
