I watched the sandwich maker spread really thick garlic spread on a roll, then add marinara sauce, then the cheese, and finally put it in the oven for a bit.
Suddenly the shop was filled with the most delicious smell, like garlic bread and fine spaghetti rolled into one.
When it came out of the oven, the woman said "Now pack it full of baby spinach and toss some olive on it."
When she left with her sandwich, the shop still smelled of so much warm garlic that I could barely get my own, now-boring, order out.
I'm freezing. I'm going to go buy some clam chowder takeout, with warm bread. Wish I had that garlic spread.
