I want to stay away from the bathroom mirror.

If I’m able to stay away from the bathroom mirror, then I’ll be less tempted to lean into the bathroom mirror, & if I don’t lean into the bathroom mirror, I’ll be less tempted to pick at my skin, & if I don’t pick at my skin, then I’ll be less likely to have scabby skin sores. :?

Can you hang something like a cloth over it when you're in there ? Or maybe temporarily paste a picture in the middle of it of something calming or motivating ?

Good idea NSR. I will try hanging a towel over it. It’s been a couple days, so the more superficial wounds have already scabbed off. 8)

Failed at this yesterday & today, but I had a good run of a few days. If I knew better, I’d do better. This is my best effort at managing my anxiety. I want to learn to sit with the anxiety instead. It’s a process. Until then, be better at covering the bathroom mirror. :|

Thank you NSR. I had a small victory yesterday. Being alone in the house is a tempting time for me, but as soon as the other humans left, I draped the bathroom mirror in a towel, where it stayed until right before they returned. I’m still scratching at my face though.

Hugs ...it's a long and exhausting fight . We get tired , we get discouraged . Sometimes it feels hopeless . But what we don't always see is the progress , the changing , the growth of self control .

But it's there . It's happening .

Thanks NSR. Progress, not perfection. Perfection doesn’t exist.

I’m doing better NSR. :) I’m using mud masks that help alleviate urges to pick at my face. Draping towels over the bathroom mirror when I can. Keeping busy with constructive activities. My skin looks okay today. :)
