Fear I will never get better - Why keep going?

Postby mansnils » Mon Dec 24, 2018 10:51 am

The mental health stigma is currently at its worst ever. My family doesn't understand a single thing about my situation. It doesn't matter how much I talk to them about it. My option is to sign myself into my local mental healthcare center. This could potentially give me a supportive environment. However, what else will this give? They will probably just hire a psychologist whose job is to question my suicidal feelings and convince me to get a more positive outlook on life or give me a convincing reason to keep living, instead of addressing my actual mental/physical health issues, the most debilitating one being the persistent extreme fatigue. And my doctor may be useless. He seems to be the kind of guy who is just comfortable prescribing me drugs and giving me sick leaves over and over again. It's been so many years and still nobody understands my situation at all. So why should I keep going?

If it were me, I'd be looking for another doctor. And spelling the issues in black and white to him. Take charge of your health, mental and physical. The doctor is not the final arbiter of your health--you are.

Is your fatigue because of your mental health or has a physical illness brought about a mental health problem?

I would find a someone who specialize in verbal subluxation. Western medicine has failed to help with my issues, psychologist have only taken me so far, but working with someone who knows about verbal subluxation has given me a new lease on life. One thing you will probably hear something like "take these herbs to cleanse your ora". Tread carefully. It is perfectly fine to see a doctor and get a cast for your broken arm, but if it keeps braking then they are not helping you. Pick and choose what care you get from who. What you are feeling is real don't let anyone tell you different!
