My beautiful princess Kiera died a few weeks ago - well 3 weeks to be exact. I havent been well anyway, was off work due to various disorders, but I can't think of anything except her. She was only 6 which I know is a good age for a cat, but it still really hurts. She apparently had a chest infection, but we didn't notice, there was nothing until she was too ill to be helped. My last memories of her are of her being really ill & in pain & it hurts so bad.

:-( my poor little baby :( breaks my heart every second of everyday.

Sorry, but we cannot concentrate long enough to read really long replies or threads so don't think we're being rude if we don't.

I'm so sorry to hear that :( I know how tough is is losing a kitty. I got Sabretooth, my big boy, when I was 16. He lived to be 8, which I thought was way too young. I was expecting him to be around for twice that. When Sabretooth was 4, he was diagnosed with chronic kidney failure. He was put on sub-cue fluids and did really well for the next 4 years. Then one day my brother noticed that his eyes looked really buggy, and I could see that his pupils were dilated to the maximum. The next day, I noticed that as Sabretooth was walking in the basement, he bumped into a support pole. I then took a flashlight and shone the light in various directions, knowing that he usually would go crazy trying to catch the light. This time, Sabretooth didn't respond. I then knew that he was losing his sight. We brought him to the emergency vet and they determined that he had very high blood pressure, which was causing his retinas to detach. The vet prescribed him blood pressure medication, and stated that this may help him regain some of his sight. A day after Sabretooth started the medication, I shone the flashlight in his eyes to see if I would get a response. Sabretooth's eyes slowly responded to the light and his pupils got just a bit narrower. I thought that he was going to be ok. The next day, I was just finishing up work in the morning from my overnight shift at a group home, and my mom called me to tell me that earlier this morning, she found Sabretooth sitting in his litter box looking very weak. She and my dad were on their way to the vet. When I got out of work, we all went to Denny's for breakfast to sort out the situation. My parents told me that the vet found Sabretooth's kidney function to be at only 25% and that things were not looking well. My brother and I decided to take a trip to the vet to see him, even if it was the last time. We had just started on our way when my mom called us to give us the news that he had passed on. This all had happened so fast, and we never would have thought we would lose our big boy so young. The important thing is that we cherish every memory we have of Sabretooth, and we will never forget the joy he brought our family. We still talk about the memories as if he never left us. I know that we will see him again one day, but in the meantime, we know that he is at peace and very happy where he is now :)
Normal is overrated :D

I'm sorry to hear that. :(

I also have a kitty named Kiara (black domestic longhair) that is nearly 6.
Nothing appropriate comes to mind.
