She really is gone hasn't she..

Postby devilxx » Wed Jul 17, 2013 3:04 pm

I love her so much. I had my cat Jess since my childhood, she is/was my only best friend. She was always there for me, and I was for her. We rescued two kittens from this old lady who wasn't taking care of them. They were brother and sister, Jess and Joey. We gave Joey to my neighbour.

I feel so guilty, because she went missing over a year ago and I was too busy with schoolwork, and having a mental breakdown to even notice. She was very old, She was gone, she really was. Until...

In March I was walking home from college, I was feeling really depressed as in class my design didn't win to be printed and sold on shirts. I saw this cat walk up to me purring and meowing at me... the cat looked so much like her. The same eyes, those markings, everything. I was so happy... for a while. I really did think it was her. She followed me home, crossed the road. I phoned up my parents and they didn't believe me until they saw the cat. We were all happy. I thought I had my cat back, I thought I finally had my only best friend back... We let her in, I was cuddling her, watching tv, talking to her, I fed her and I even got her a new collar. But it didn't turn out to be her in the end and we had to give her back to her owner... It's like that scene in that old movie A.I where the little boy has a clone of his Mother but it can only last for one day. And he spent the day with her, and I spent the day with my kitty.
I can't get over it, I can't sleep, eat, I keep crying. We can't get another cat because we have two puppies and they wouldn't get along with the cat. I kept her collar in my box of sentimental things and when I went away my Mother gave the collar away to someone else
I can't look at other cats without thinking of her
I will always love her..

Devilxx,

Sorry to read of what you have been through with your cat. Cats are independent souls, and so it is difficult to keep them with us 24/7. You must have felt betrayed when you thought you had found the cat, and then it turned out to be someone else's, but also that your Mother gave your cat's collar away while you were away. :(

As soon as I found out, I couldn't look at the cat, it tricked me it was an imposter. I still can't believe that my own Mother just went into my box and took her collar. She said she'll get I back for me but she hasn't. I kept my diary in there too and when I opened it, pages were ripped out! The day after the whole cat incident my mom saw how depressed I was so she said that she'll take me to Helsinki for a weekend because I'm going to study abroad and move there. She said the prices were good and she was going to book it. Once again I got my hopes up and she changed her mind a week later. She also did the same thing in June if I passed into second year of college :(

Oh hunny, I'm so sorry. I can totally relate to the grief. Although I can't relate to this exact scenario, I can relate to the grief. I posted my story in this forum as well about an hour ago. It's so hard. I support you and am here with you.
