Recovery vs Addiction

Postby uskat » Tue Mar 16, 2021 7:14 pm

ADDICTION is when we give up EVERYTHING for one thing

RECOVERY is when we give up ONE THING for everything

I like that- that's really good and to the point.

Tell someone today you love them, for Life is short. But scream it at them in Klingon, for Life is also confusing and terrifying.

We do not delete posts.
Let it go.
Without (forum) rules, we all might as well be up in a tree flinging our crap at each other.

I have so much admiration for this woman . She fought for her recovery like a warrior and years later continues to come here to to offer support and encouragement to our forum .

I've seen many success stories on this forum and hers is one that always warms my heart .

Much love , Kat . You're an inspiration .

Addiction is I will gamble today and quit tomorrow.

Recovery is I will not gamble today and I will worry about tomorrow, tomorrow.

Maybe i can start saying this more from now on. I really do want to find better things closer to me. I sometimes feel like the number crunching i have done with my calculator has left me empty in some days. I shouldn't reduce myself to these calculations and "future values".
