Gambling addict for 9years

Postby Salvator » Mon Jul 29, 2019 8:57 pm

Hello to all
I began to gamble just for fun before 9 years
It was quite a problem forgetting method for me since i was suffering from panic attacks and depression at that time.
I gambled a lot but with minimal amounts at that time.
Since 2016 i started gambling at an excessive level with losing control over the money i spend... Nowadays i gamble 2 or 3 times a month but with quite big amounts...about 300 dollars each session. Ofcourse without winning a penny...
Its a humiliation for me since i got a very lovely family who loves me.I didn't spoke a thing about my secret addiction....i am ready to quit and i strongly addvice you to do the same. Please inform me if anybody had the same problem. I need your support .Thank you

Welcome to the forum Salvator,

This addiction may have started off small, but it is progressive in its nature. Many of us here understand what you are going through and are going through the same problems as yourself. The chase to win back your money, the secrets, the lies we tell to our loved ones. To start halting this addiction in its tracks, I would suggest self-exclusion at the casino and to also attend a Gamblers Anonymous group (GA) near you. By speaking and meeting other people who understand you, they can provide you with support.

Self exclude yourself before it's too late. I'm a gambling addict and I hit rock bottom so many times and I never learned my lesson until I have nothing. Now I accept and realized something have to change and it start from me. Life is good without gambling small or big. Enjoy your life but not on gambling. It's never too late. You can do it.

Gambling is the worst addiction of all... And I've been on crack!
No other addiction can ruin you as quickly.
Let's take a hypothecical scenario: Two billionaires meet. One of them says: 'Let's flip a coin, whoever wins, gets everything the other one owns.'
*Flip*
Now one billionaire is a beggar. One second...
What most peole don't understand= that gambling is NOT about the money.
It's about the endorphines released when you play, you can get those whether you win or lose.
These are so addictive you will do the wildes things.
I knew a guy from X (No bias) who was in so deep the casinos kicked him out. So he went to an underground casino.
Went deeper in the hole, lost his car, his house.
Then... He went back and (This is sickening) He GAMBLED AWAY HIS 17-YEAR OLD DAUGHTER!
Step away from the table NOW. You can't win (I know, I used to be a croupier)
