hi everyone,
all weekend I have been thinking of going to my nearest casino with this terrible itch to gamble. but its now Sunday nite and tomorrow will be day 40 gamble free for me. I am so thankful for this forum it has helped tremendously to overcome these urges to gamble. I too have a pile of debt to repay due to my gambling but I feel so much better now. I actually have food in my pantry and a little cash in my wallet. I'm looking forward to 100 gamble free days and beyond. just one day at a time. Thanks everyone.

Day 0 (in less than four hours, it will be day 1 or 1 full day for me).

If you're a smartphone user, you can download an app called day since counter, which will count the number of seconds, minutes, days, weeks, and years since you last gambled. It's free and it gives me an extra push to maintain my GF life.

I noticed that those who have been actively posting in this forum are successful in controlling their urges to gamble.

Keep it up everyone! I'm looking forward to my first 7 days of being gambling free. :D

Very true ...I think we help ourselves when we help others . It restores a little self worth , the knowledge that there is still something positive that we can do , no matter how much negativity we are immersed in because of our addiction and its repercussions .

I remember getting a tiny shot of strength when I posted a reply that said " I'm here for you ." and received one back that said " That means a lot - I'm here for you too ."

There is strength in numbers .

Battle on , my friends !

Day 2

My first challenge will be tomorrow when the closest casino will double their free play and this offer will last until Thursday. I think I can do it! I can't wait for my first 7 days of GF. You guys are doing great!

Let's keep going! GF forever!

I'm at 4 days again. Yep, you read it right, after 8+ months GF I had a relapse.

Not gonna make up excuses, but during my trip to Asia I got into a relationship with someone who has a lot of symptoms for something called "Borderline Personality Disorder". This relationship messed with my head and it some point I just couldn't resist anymore.
After losing money (luckily, causing winning would have been bad) I quickly took measures to prevent it from happening again.

No point in lying it never happened, cause it did. So here I am again.

I'm really sorry to hear that BC - glad to see you back though ....

The only thing that sucks worse than starting recovery again is not starting recovery again .

Relapse can happen to any of us . It doesn't matter why , it matters what's next .

Still cheering you on ...

Counter reset to : 2.

Two days ago i was really really tired and needed to go and wait for a friend of mine near a casino . He then called me to say he will be late so i played ~one hour until he came. Don't feel bad about this but i learned a new thing : You're not yourself when you're tired, you're not rationalizing properly so it's better if you stay out from places that might be a danger to your GA habbit.
