You have fought this disease brilliantly and you should be so proud of yourself . I know that when I reached the point of clarity about my addiction and the mechanics of its compulsions , I truly felt that it had no power over me anymore . That feeling has become a certainty now and there is no going back .
May it be so for you too .

And what an awesome feeling that is ! Thank you for sharing this . It's inspiring !

Thank you NSR!

170 days today, 24 weeks. I'm so happy. Life isn't perfect, but at least gambling is no longer a part of it.

Hi all,

Hope you are still healthy and gamble free in this difficult period in life.
I'm going on 30 days tomorrow. :D

It's been a few months since I last posted here.
And that is for a reason. I relapsed after being GF for 74 days last summer and too embarrassed to come here and share it with you guys.

Had a rough time during winter,..
My life was spiralling out of control, accumulating more and more and more debt.
I don't recall the exact moment, but I suddenly had enough.
And for the first time ever I installed anti gambling software.

It is my lifesaver.
I thought I could do it on my own, and I felt a lot of shame everytime I relapsed because I felt weak.
But NOW I know I can't do it all own my own.
I realised that.
Finally.

Enjoy your sunday!

I kept trying to do it on my own for so many years because I figured since I got myself in his mess, I can get myself out of it. Actually that was a lie. I was simply too ashamed of myself to let other people know what I have done.

Welcome back Xmame , it's good to hear from you .

Shame kept me from recovery for longer than I care to admit . It's a hard thing to to own up to what others perceive as personal weakness or just plain stupidity . The truth is , addiction is none of those things and is far more complicated than it appears to folks who have never experienced it .

Well done for taking that pro-active step towards fighting this disease . It will serve you well .

Quick update from me :). Tomorrow I will be 365 days GF!!
It would have not been possible without this forum.

No one knows about my gambling except you guys! not even my wife. I did relapse once but after that I self excluded from all the betting sites and never looked back again.

I will repeat again, the game changer for me was to forget about the money I lost. I have paid all my debt (5k) and have a lot of savings in my account.

Thanks everyone for the support
