Knee jerk reaction

Postby LadySlippers » Fri Mar 15, 2019 10:44 pm

How do I stop this ? As soon as my inside people start communicating I kind of jolt “ awake” and all communication stops.
I have a journal but no one writes in it .
Sometimes they do get through -usually in middle of night or when I’m sleepy . I just may need to be patient but if anyone has any ideas I’d appreciate it .

Does that happen when you’re inviting them to communicate? And are you writing in the journal? Maybe in addition to being patient you can be more proactive about communicating so they start to feel more like you can handle it? If they feel like you’re so startled each time I can see why they might be inhibited about talking to you. I don’t know. I get startled sometimes also, and feel them pull back.

I agree with Gang, if you are not writing in the journal then maybe your alters do not feel like they should? Just a thought.

More Alter names will be added if it becomes necessary.

Hi,

If you want some Littles to write how about writing a story for them about what the journal is for and that it's a safe and happy place with friends who can write each other. Maybe draw a picture of you reading the journal and smiling or something.

Just an idea.

When they say 'be yourself',
which one do they mean?
