His leg isn't working right and it hurts him because sometimes he won't put his foot down, and we're taking him to the doggy doctor soon. I'm really scared. Plus we have to leave him there because of the virus. We can't even go in.

Thanks for caring about our doggy. He's home now and he's supposed to rest, but he's not very good at that. They didn't find anything wrong, but they think maybe he hurt something in his knee. We gave him medicine so it wouldn't hurt as much, and he's not supposed to walk much or jump at all. They said to tie him to something, but he didn't like that so we stopped. We just closed the doors to the rooms where he would jump on the bed.

They said to TIE HIM? Seriously?

Yes it's hard to get critters to not do things they're not supposed to be doing. We've had critters occasionally hurt their backs by jumping, and you just do what you can to keep them from being too active until they heal up. Did they just give a pain killer, or did they also do a steroid shot? Usually that's what our vet gives when something like that happens, steroid shot and sometimes some painkillers. Glad it's nothing too serious.

Yup. They said to put him on his leash and tie it to the furniture.

He's supposed to take an NSAID plus gabapentin for 10 days. The good thing about gabapentin is that it's a bit sedating, because he's a very active and energetic dog. This is the first dog we've ever had, and he's been very healthy, so this has been very hard on the littles. He's 13, but people who see him always assume he's a puppy because he's so excited and enthusiastic about everything.

Our little dog is also very... enthusiastic  And I have never seen a critter that likes to go for car rides like this one does.
