I feel imprisoned by my alters...

Postby RageUncaged » Thu Nov 02, 2017 8:39 am

...it's getting better, but still there. One of them is tech savvy, and knows how to make the network not work (and I'm pretty savvy myself, but not like this). I can think I am saying one thing, but be saying something to make a complete ass off myself. I only found out I had DID at the end of 2015, when I was 27. I am now 29 and still struggling.

They do not directly communicate with me. At all. Hints here and there, like some childlike #######4. But I know at least one is an adult.

I guess I should say hey, I'm James. And I"m just looking for a functional, normal life. Hell, just functional will do.

Hi, James.

I'm sorry you're still struggling two years after being diagnosed. To tell the truth, I'm not sure how to respond to this thread. Are you seeking advice or just venting?

I'd think the first sentence would work for starters. Are you interested in getting to know everyone, are you open to who they are, what they want and need?

Since psychforums obscures swear words, I'm assuming your comment "like some childlike #######4" included a swear word. If I were another alter spoken about this way, especially a child alter, I wouldn't be very eager to make your acquaintance, you know?

Are you seeing a therapist? A diagnosis isn't necessarily followed by therapy, of course.
Dx = DID. My blog. My personal Periodic Table of 78 alters.
