I cut my thighs because 1. They're the easiest part of my body to hide 2. Because I feel dirty and I thought it would make me unattractive so no one would hurt me again.

Stomach and my breasts because again I thought it would make me unattractive and undesirable.

My arms because it makes it easier for me to push people away.

I started cutting on my wrists when I was about 12, but I got scared about people finding out, so I picked my skin and pinched and scratched through my teenage years, and it was only a couple of years ago that I started up cutting again. I'm not sure why, probably mostly as a response to acute anxiety. It was at a similar time to me also starting to wristbang and scratch/make friction burns during class, and hitting myself in the head in private. I cut mostly on my hip because it's easy to hide and easy to stem the blood flow if I need to. I tried cutting on my upper arm but you have to cut much deeper to feel the same relief. I also cut my upper thigh for a while, but stopped when I realised that you could see the cuts through my tights if I wore shorts or dresses/skirts. Recently I seem to have broken my own barriers and made a few cuts on my forearm, and haven't made much of an attempt to hide them.

I usually cut on my thigh, above the knee. I can hide it easier and is convenient when at night and sitting in my bed. Once in a while I'll do a single cut on my arm or chest.

Hi, for what it's worth I chose my upper arms when I think about it vaguely rationally, but that said I still wear a sweater for work because of the stripes I've put on my forearms.

At first I started with my inner left forearm, because it was the easiest to access, bandage, and control the damage (being right-handed).

Then my parents found out so I moved to chest/ribs/stomach areas and hips because it was easier to hide. When I moved out not so long ago it was back to left forearm.

But I ran out of space so it's both forearms now. Which is a bummer, cuz my left hand is more clumsy. I've already severed quite a few nerves, having cut deeper than expected/intended. Every time it took a few days to just regain movement in the limb.

The very first 'session', however, was a *mod edit* cuts pretty much everywhere outside of my face as it was done in an uncontrollable fit of frustration.

It's not that much. But it's also everything.

I cut my hips because it's the easiest to hide. And I have bone there unlike the rest of my body (fat or muscle).
