CD and Autism

Postby KitMcDaydream » Thu Jul 18, 2019 9:12 am

Hi

I'm new to this board but have been on others within the site for a while now. I have Autism which is due to developmental delay from being born with my thyroid not working.

My question is.... Could CD only show symptoms at the times the stress was occurring, by that it mean it may come and go in the same day? For example I mean I find having to go out in public extremely difficult I'm having to deal with 'sensory overload' constantly from all the sounds, smells, people etc and have to go to busy places in a wheelchair.

I know I'm not faking this but I genuinely can't walk properly outside in public. Even with 2 crutches my brain struggles to keep my body balanced, put one foot in front of the other and process all the information in the environment around me. Someone has to come with me but I can't walk a few steps plus process what they are saying and seperate their voice from background noise. They have to wait until I'm sat in the chair so my brain's not having to worry about keeping my balance so I can focus on what they're saying.

Is it possible panic and constant stress on the mind from the sensory overload is causing the physical symptoms? When I had chance to spend months in isolation with no social or environmental triggers at all my physical symptoms vanished and I appeared to have recovered. ...until I get an appointment, have to go anywhere ordeal with people and they all come back!

Thanks
