Shock at my first session .... Wtf

Postby Auntxiety » Thu Mar 19, 2015 8:05 pm

Had my first CBT session today , a year after loosing my unborn baby in not very nice circumstances leading to post traumatic stress.

I'd managed to quite nicely hide it away , plan a wedding a climb the career ladder in the past year , I thought I was coping . Is forgotten I was in the waiting list .

I turned up today in my suit , make up done , straight from work .... And left in a puddle of tears , make up all over the show and my head everywhere .

Is this normal ? It's like bringing it all up again , for what ?!

Serious concerns about going back

Is this normal ?

Not just normal - very healthy.

I'd be more worried if you left not feeling much at all.

From my personal experience cbt was one of the most challenging things I have ever done. It might be the same for you, and so the emotions you feel are validated. Try to go easy on yourself and give yourself extra compassion through this process if you are able to.

Good luck!
