What helped me was interacting with, in your case, an 11 year old. See how unworldly they are. How little understanding of the adult world & adult activity. Expect an 11 yo to say no to something they may not even know is wrong or inappropriate. Some don't even have the words much less the concept. You bravely told someone. That is astounding. Besides probably saying no wouldn't have accomplished anything. You were brave. You told.

One of our common mistakes in life is trying to make sense and criticize what we did on the past when in fact if we really know better now then we should realize that our past self didn't know much than we do now. By that we should admit the wrong things our past self did and just live it the right way we know from now on each day of our life. If you realized you should've not done that wrong decision then try from now on live each day of your life making the righteous decision that you are capable of now. Best wishes.
