Enquiry??

Postby Shandy22 » Mon Apr 28, 2008 12:45 pm

Hi I've got an enquiry about something I experience when I'm dropping off to sleep and wonder if anyone's heard of it.

I have this experience like I stop breathing and suddenly wake in panic trying to tell myself to breath. I think I 've had it a while 4-5 years I think I'm 33 now. It's quite scary. I have one of these most nights but it appears once I'm fast asleep I don't suffer and always wake up in the morning!
Any ideas?

Hey,

I have heard of at least two people who have this condition and I think it is due to the fact that the sinuses in the nose close-over during sleep. If you then don't breath through your mouth, your body will wake itself up because it's not getting enough air.

I think you can get something that alleviates the symptoms though, but I'm not sure.
