“It’s My Party” I’m returning home from work to my basement apartment. It’s night. My front door is wide open.  The cats are milling about, as they do. I go inside. I’m having a party. My old coworkers are there. It’s relaxed & cozy feeling. It must be summer because all the doors & windows are open & it feels comfortable to me.

I feel self-conscious that my apartment is dirty, but the others seem ok with it. |
