Well if you want to do a lot a linear equations you can load the memory up and you can then process it at light speed. What you can't do is have the calculation of one cycle effect the other cycle because as of yet the memory isn't fast enough. I suspect over the next 5 years this issue will change and computing will go photonic. However the company LightMatter does offer something that is useful for inference but it's not as useful in areas of learning although still useful especially if you want to say upscale ultra fast well a low to mid frequency detail image to a high detail frequency image. |
