What about an encryption standard that is very hard to break but with a partial key which an arbiter holds for each month's data can be broken at some level of expense. Here the law has to be honest about their level of code breaking and in most cases an arbiter will be able to inform the user. This instead of a cyber war everyone against everyone would be a model which could be more secure and more legal. |
