For anyone who's interested, from a technical standpoint, I don't have Schizoid Personality Disorder. I fit almost perfectly into the criteria - everything from apathy to a loathing of most social interaction - but my unrelenting drive to try and find at least one interpersonal relationship I value apparently excludes me from an official diagnosis. I spend time on these forums because regardless of my diagnostic status, I am clearly infinitely close to schizoids than I am to the typical person. I'm blogging about this because it's the easiest way for me to attach a message to my account. My lack of a diagnosis doesn't bother me, but I know there are purists out there, so if labels are important to you, then you should know that the schizoid label is one I lack. |
