Seroquel and Cholesterol

Has anyone developed high cholesterol from Seroquel? My total cholesterol is 315 and my doctor thinks Seroquel is partly to blame.

I take Seroquel and no, I haven't developed high cholesterol. Is it a side effect?

It can be. That and high blood sugar. It's the result of metabolic syndrome that happens to some people on certain atypical antipsychotics. It sucks.

I will talk to my doc about it and maybe start tracking changes. I take Seroquel PRN. Thanks for the info.

I was prescribed seroquel 100 mg for sleep and took it with no supervision for 13 years.
Nobody ever took any blood tests or asked the question if I should continue.
When I asked about it myself, it fell to doctors we'll look at that later list. They didn't seem to know.
My bloodsugar and cholesterol were high. But no doctor could see the correlation. They just started the healthy eating and exercise lecture.
My recent psychiatrist told me I have to come off seroquel. And by then I apparently had diabetes, lipids and high cholesterol. After stopping my cholesterol went back to normal. But I also have diabetes now. Not a diabetes which needs medication yet. But the doctor told me I now have to live with the fact that I have it.
That's my experience.
