Is work nothing but a series of humiliations?

Postby Parador » Wed May 16, 2018 1:12 am

Just found out they did a bait and switch on me at work. While the backstabber was on vacation and the new kid was disabled with a broken arm I was asked to help out and log in the blood samples for the tox program. Now I find out this is meant to be a permanent duty for me. This is the kind of thing that newbies just out of school do. I'm not even in the tox program anymore. But now I'm going to be doing the lab tech work for the new kid who has been at the lab for less than 2 years while he does the real analytical work. I feel like the lab oaf...

Luckily the new guy just stepped in and logged in the samples - he just got out of his cast. So maybe he will continue with it.....

Hi Parador

That sucks! That's not fair on you.

I know exactly how you feel. I've had this happen to me a few times. Sending you hugs and support.

Hey Parador! Yep, long time, no see.

I've been struggling, then coping, and back to struggling! I've lurked on the forum occasionally.

Sadly my cat of 15 years passed away in February. Really knocked me off balance, to be honest. She was a really sweet creature. I miss her loads.

Hope all is well with you.

Aww - poor kitty. I remember when my last cat got old and I finally had to have her put down. His last month was not much fun. Couldn't pee or poop on his own. That was 8 years ago and I still miss him. Heck, I still miss the cat I had when I was a kid who died after I graduated college. And my dog who died when I was 12.

As for work - so far the kid has been logging things in. I tried to compensate by seeing if I could watch amazon prime TV shows on my work computer - but the firefox is not an updated version that I need. Bummer!!

Happiness by Steve Cuts, basically about the soul draining 9 to 5 rat race. I despise the system and can't put up with it anymore.
