Is attention to detail a required trait in order to be diagnosed with autism?

Autism is a spectrum disorder so not one thing or another will take you on or off the spectrum.

i am autistic and not detail-oriented. i also have ADHD and it is a lot of work to focus on the details. my autism means when i see the details i can be needing to keep them a certain way, but often i do not notice them.

every autistic person is different. many autistic people are not detailed-oriented.
