Rejection sensitive dysphoria

Have any of you heard of rejection sensitive dysphoria and its affiliation with ADD/ADHD?

Interesting article about it. I definitely think I have this.

I have heard of this. I don't doubt that it's a real aspect of ADHD; however, I get confused because it's something that feels like it can be directly part of childhood experiences and development, as well as being connected with other disabilities.
For example, for me as a kid I was considered gifted, but that hasn't translated to what is considered success as an adult (in terms of social norms). And both being "gifted" and disabled are because of my ADHD and autism. And then there's this weird thing in society where you're celebrated if you overcome your disabilities, as opposed to just being accepted as not being one dimensional. I don't know how to explain that well lol, but for me, it's kind of turned into this cycle of shame and belief that I'm a disappointment to so many people, and I think because it's neurology+life experiences it's now part of anxiety and depression.
So... tl;dr, it's definitely a thing, but is simply an ADHD brain wiring thing or something that comes from life experiences during childhood development? I don't know.

I think it's more common in kids (and adults) with ADHD. At least that's how it seems to me.
