DSM V revisions (all disorders)

Postby Chucky » Tue Feb 16, 2010 9:08 pm

Hi,

Here's a website which lists all of the proposed revisions: http://www.dsm5.org/

This is its short entry for Asperger's Syndrome: http://www.dsm5.org/ProposedRevisions/P ... spx?rid=97

There's also a tab that provides a rationale (of sorts) for the change.
Ellsworth Toohey: Mr. Roark, we're alone here. Why don't you tell me what you think of me in any words you wish.

Howard Roark: But I don't think of you.

From the 1949 movie version of Ayn Rand's The Fountainhead

SPiDers like being alone.

Loners are not lonely people. Lonely people are not loners.

Which is pretty awfully bad. As rationale goes it ranks with voodoo priests or sjamaans
There's only two things I hate in this world. People who are intolerant of other people's cultures and the Dutch.

Some might say the same thing about psychiatry/psychology in general.
