Rejection?

Postby Barbu » Fri Aug 17, 2018 5:28 pm

I'm currently diagnosed with Asperger, I've been told I'm a high level one whatever that mean; by currently I've had other diagnoses and I'm awaiting another evalutation from a neuropsychologist, I might make an update (to this post) or a follow-up on this.

I'm purposefully omitting things trying to be as anonymous as possible while still getting help. I've been involved in a social activity for some time. I've been rejected by a good portion of the people but am still able to fill a large portion of my past-time schedule with that social activity.

Usually rejection is clear-cut, I'm being impressed upon I'm not liked or being ignored. In a case it's not so clear. There was a pause with a group I was involved for months, I think it's true since I've seen messages addressed to others from that group that seemed honest (it could still be a ruse and I was being ignored for a long time before those messages). 1-2 days after those messages I was deleted from the group communication without prior notice, I messaged the group leader letting him know I couldn't access the group communication anymore, some days later I did a follow-up on that same platform (a particular email, instant messaging, forum, etc.), still without a reply I tried another platform and soon got a reply that the activity did not resume and he probably wouldn't lead any in the future.

Recently I've seen messages from the leader on the same platform as the group communication (on a different "place" of it) asking people to join him, I wasn't available at the time. Upon being free again, I've seen such requests from him for future events. Thinking I was deleted without notice and ignored for some time, that the leader could have rejected me. I tried my luck on the same platform as the group communication asking if he'd like me to join his new events, he replied that those already attending preferred I didn't join but in a couple months he could make something for me. I replied I'd join anyway but I assumed those he was referring too were friends, I was trying to let him know indirectly that it was normal to reject me for friends as I'm not one of his; feeling his offer was just pity, I indicated if at the time he referred he made something for me it was ok and also ok if he didn't. As I was writing this post he messaged me a couple times with a friendly "tone" but I'm still thinking he could be as charming as can be, I wouldn't forget what he did for some time.

I'm wondering if he in fact rejected me but just feel uncomfortable letting me know and is in fact hoping he don't lead me in that activity again.

Would a moderator edit the OP appending what's quoted (in this post) ?
Update 1:
One of the participants having expressed not wanting to participate in the activity with me is also a leader and was leading me and at a point refused to do so anymore, he also was part of the original activity. To me that reinforces the theory that I got picked out for removal of the communication and it continues to exist, contrary to what was expressed by the original leader, and I was indeed picked by the players to not join the new activities by the original leader. IMO that doesn't preclude the original leader from having in effect rejected me but just not having expressed it to me more directly, which I consider not at all since offering to make activities for me, which would be a lie.
