People with Adhd and Aspd have low levels of dopamine in the brain which can explain risky, impulsive behavior in order to attain stimulation.

Amphetamines fix that issue by increasing dopamine and adrenaline temporarily. This state of stimulation could lead to your brain not being as hungry for other stimuli, allowing you to think more before you act, thus better impulse control.

Just a guess

“When you increase dopamine levels, you increase the attention system’s ability to be regular and consistent, which has many good effects,” explains Ratey, like reducing the craving for new stimuli and increasing alertness.

Oh yeah. I remember reading about this when looking at SPD vs AsPD. One of the key differences is the availability of dopamine.

Are people with AsPD in some sense then 'depressed'

I'd love to know why people are so appalled at having a cup of tea made straight from the hot tap.

^Because that's not how it's done.

Once I was working in the house of an old British couple. They asked me if I wanted a cup of tea. I did not. But I'd never been served tea by real live British people before so I said OK.

The little lady put some water on until it boiled. The she grabbed a teacup and put a heaping spoonful of Lipton Iced Tea mix in it and then added the water. She handed it to me. I've seen some fu*ked up shlt in my life but this was surreal.

^^i said it because we had no kettle at work so I just used hot water out of the tap. I don't see it as an issue but some people were appalled.

Fill a glass with hot tap water, get it cold, then take a taste. You'll see what I mean.
