SolemnlySworn, chose an interesting topic.
A lot of enjoyable poems were posted here.
Weird how the person complaining about a lack of meaningful conversation remained on his own posts in order to continuing wagging his finger rather than coming over here.
I'm going to hush now and let it go.

I would have guess she interpreted your behavior as schoolboy play anyways. She didn't seem too helpless

but the more i think about it,

i did sort of go off on her in my "dinner for schmucks" thread.

it was all in good fun but directly after that she started to try to troll me and then when it was unsuccessful she left.

but who knows.

she was ayt.

Oh I didn't think you drove her away. I thought that dinner thread was playful and she played along?

I thought maybe on the slim chance she told you before she went, because I was under the impression that she was fond of you.

I'm just speculating.

Not really one for poetry, my level is more:

Mary had a little lamb,
The midwife had a fit.

or:

Mary had a little lamb,
She also had a duck,
(You can see where this is going)

In memory of seabreezes poetry thread

Mary had a little lamb,
she also had a duck
she sometimes liked to f__k that duck
when she was outta luck

"yick! yuck! scary mary-GODtdamn not again!" said Sam I am,
"dont you know that duck is your fam?? smdh I aint a fan..
So before you suck ya duck, and bang your damn lamb man,
can can you least cock sock both their little wang tangs!?!?"

from a short story:

"and every night, about midnight, I turned the latch of his door and opened it --oh so gently! And then, when I had made an opening sufficient for my head, I put in a dark lantern, all closed, closed, that no light shone out, and then I thrust in my head. Oh, you would have laughed to see how cunningly I thrust it in! I moved it slowly --very, very slowly, so that I might not disturb the old man's sleep. It took me an hour to place my whole head within the opening so far that I could see him as he lay upon his bed. Ha! would a madman have been so wise as this, And then, when my head was well in the room, I undid the lantern cautiously-oh, so cautiously --cautiously (for the hinges creaked) --I undid it just so much that a single thin ray fell upon the vulture eye. And this I did for seven long nights --every night just at midnight --but I found the eye always closed; and so it was impossible to do the work; for it was not the old man who vexed me, but his Evil Eye. And every morning, when the day broke, I went boldly into the chamber, and spoke courageously to him, calling him by name in a hearty tone, and inquiring how he has passed the night. So you see he would have been a very profound old man, indeed, to suspect that every night, just at twelve, I looked in upon him while he slept."

Daddy
by Sylvia Plath

You stand at the blackboard, daddy,
In the picture I have of you,
A cleft in your chin instead of your foot
But no less a devil for that, no not
Any less the black man who

Bit my pretty red heart in two.
I was ten when they buried you.
At twenty I tried to die
And get back, back, back to you.
I thought even the bones would do.

But they pulled me out of the sack,
And they stuck me together with glue.
And then I knew what to do.
I made a model of you,
A man in black with a Meinkampf look

And a love of the rack and the screw.
And I said I do, I do.
So daddy, I’m finally through.
The black telephone’s off at the root,
The voices just can’t worm through.

If I’ve killed one man, I’ve killed two——
The vampire who said he was you
And drank my blood for a year,
Seven years, if you want to know.
Daddy, you can lie back now.

There’s a stake in your fat black heart
And the villagers never liked you.
They are dancing and stamping on you.
They always knew it was you.
Daddy, daddy, you bastard, I’m through.

there is enough treachery, hatred violence absurdity in the average
human being to supply any given army on any given day

and the best at murder are those who preach against it
and the best at hate are those who preach love
and the best at war finally are those who preach peace

those who preach god, need god
those who preach peace do not have peace
those who preach peace do not have love

beware the preachers
beware the knowers
beware those who are always reading books
beware those who either detest poverty
or are proud of it
beware those quick to praise
for they need praise in return
beware those who are quick to censor
they are afraid of what they do not know
beware those who seek constant crowds for
they are nothing alone
beware the average man the average woman
beware their love, their love is average
seeks average

but there is genius in their hatred
there is enough genius in their hatred to kill you
to kill anybody
not wanting solitude
not understanding solitude
they will attempt to destroy anything
that differs from their own
not being able to create art
they will not understand art
they will consider their failure as creators
only as a failure of the world
not being able to love fully
they will believe your love incomplete
and then they will hate you
and their hatred will be perfect

like a shining diamond
like a knife
like a mountain
like a tiger
like hemlock

their finest art

^^^ I came across this a couple of months ago and liked it especially these lines..

''beware the average man the average woman
beware their love, their love is average
seeks average
''

This is interesting too:

''beware those who are always reading books''
Then, I'm sure Bukowski would know this includes reading HIS writings :)
