Religion, belief, whatever.

So, Religion plays an important role in society. Whether it is based on bollox or not. If people are able to behave with common decency and respect, I don't see the problem with it.

The problem is that it removes personal accountability and the need to strengthen your own inner-self
.
Personal accountability to a person that doesn't know up from down, in from out?

There may be a problem there.

What constitutes "inner self' in your opinion?

Self reliance.
I'm not arguing; I'm explaining why I'm right.

Makes sense in part, but what happens if the individual is severely mentally ill and cannot function but is unaware of it?

What criteria is used to measure self reliance?
And , Self reliance can also cross multiple spheres of existence. And take on different permutations.

I guess that in the context we're talking about, it would be dealing with sh1t you face instead of hiding under the covers and praying to Jebus.

This thread isn't as interesting as the previous one.

Well, could delve into some of the conspiracy theories and the whackaloons that are running the show there, but it will get political and that tends to irritate the PTB.

How about, you come up with a well thought out expose of influence used in the media. Bastardization of science and natural law.

Tons of examples.
