What are your interests or things that you put time into?

Postby Blueskywhitedove » Thu Apr 18, 2019 7:01 am

Mine are humans, not so much physically or biologically (boring) but from psychological, emotional and social point of view. Especially psychopathology and the dynamics of social interaction. Other interests are classical art (performing) and true crime (not performing).

What are yours?

I'm a people watcher. I love watching people and I find it fascinating.

Also I fill my time up with a lot of exercise. Not just because I enjoy it but it helps me with some of my symptoms.

I love having a good laugh as well.

I like to look at everything about a person. From what shoes they wear, the fashion sense, body type, how they could improve on certain areas and how they interact with each other. There will be lots more that I pick up on with my monitoring as well.

People are my biggest source of amusement.

There isn’t much that really hold my interest for any length of time anymore, but when I’m motivated it’s usually.

- Weightlifting/training
- Money
-gaming(don’t do it much anymore)
- Shooting
- Weapons
- Politics
- Wars and other conflicts particularly WW2
- reading about and watching shows on ancient civilizations
- Watching over my Zombie hordes
- Making lists on psychforums

I randomly get sucked into pretty much anything if it has these qualities;
Immersive, repetitive, instantaneous feedback, improvement and the magic sauce is random bits of surprises and danger.

Actually, even just random bobs of information is quite addictive for me. I can spend hours reading Wikipedia about the most random stuff. Even this site is a bit of black hole. The other day I was reading about mums who poison their kids for attention.

I'm trying to stay away from going out, doing drugs and gambling in my answer-- I'd also like to post things as they come to mind rather than dedicating longer than I'd like to listing items

One good example is my curiosity for geopolitics and what happens between enterprise and state actors. Will tend to read around this kind of thing every couple of days. I also have periods where I immerse myself more fully in it. I'm not even sure what exactly it is I like. Perhaps strategic interactions. Historical accounts aren't as interesting for some reason.. Piecing together and analysing moves is quite enjoyable though. I really found my footing for this kind of thing most when I was in the Int Corps. ISIS were taking over swathes of Iraq at the time and what was most important is that they were sacking oil refineries the UK would have had oil from. Not being able to rely on OPEC while also having recently placed economic sanctions on Russia put us in a tight spot. Looking at workarounds and how to manage keeping a steady energy supply was interesting. Watching it all fold out as the Specials went in and took back a couple of refineries was satisfying.

Sober period: Guitar, bush walking, journaling, reading, weight lifting, talking philosophical jive with cabbages, cooking, running, mostly writing tho.

Not sober: posting on psychforums, watching incest porn, watching youtube, going to the gym + sauna afterwards to counteract tolerance problems, cooking huge meaty feasts with way too much garlic and chilli, walking/listening to old school classical, buying secondhand books, masturbating, sleeping.
