Everyone has the capacity to be artistic, to the extent that everyone has the capacity to have an abstract thought. The difference is that many people lack the skills and basic techniques to demonstrate it.

It's similar to a musician; you might be musically talented but you need to learn some basic techniques to begin to discover your talent.
I'm not arguing; I'm explaining why I'm right.

I lack basic skills in art - freehand drawing, painting, etc.
You should see my handwriting.. I posted it a while ago.

But i like poetry and used to be a great musician. Arguably the best to come through my high school (in drumming, not poetry). I made the snare drum line my freshman year, and as a senior i was section leader and lead our drum line to our first ever statewide championship. And i went to a big school. 2,000 students.

I was being self-deprecating. Although personally I have zero interest and appreciation for art. Not sure what that says about me.

I don't believe in natural talent - although I do believe some people understand how to improve, so they do it at a faster rate than others or train more. But I believe everyone is mostly capable of achieving anything given they apply the combination of both hard AND smart work.

It says you're a liar, and looking in the wrong places.

I'm sure you can appreciate some forms of art.
Beautiful women, for example.
The art of makeup application.
A well built body.
Etc.

I tried drawing, both traditional and digital, photography, composing music, and sculpting, as well as writing.
It turned out that I'm terrible at all of the above, so I stay away from making art and assume I'm not creative now.

No, but it uses the same process. If you like a set of tits then you can like a painting.
