Open discussion about the Anti-Psychiatry Movement and related topics. This includes the opposition to forced treatment and hospitalization as well as the belief that Psychiatric Medication does more harm than good. Please note that these topics are controversial and therefore this forum may offend some people. This is not the belief of Psych Forums or Get Mental Help and this forum was posted to offer a safe place to discuss these beliefs.

The en $#%^ ification of the internet - *mod edit*

I remember coming here and how easy it was to make a topic about anything mental heath then days later being able to find the thread I made here on Google results.

There is anti psychiatry on *mod edit*, that $#%^ bites. Make a topic no chronological order maybe everyone gets to talk about it for a day then the "algorithm" horse $#%^ decides what's on top some sort by popularity #######4.

"Information is organized by upvotes and downvotes, making it easier to find popular or relevant content."

Oh please F off that's so horrible. The internet sucks now.

Look at this $#%^ *mod edit*

What the heck is that crap I'm not doing that, oh sure put a load of research and effort into a topic and if its not popular or relevant right away its just flushed down some abyss never to be seen again.

No I can't waste my time on that.

The internet so sucks now, even if I wanted to play *mod edit* some Karma crap just so people can see your posts, I didn't have the energy to continue.

I wanted to post links to anti psych forums on *mod edit* see if we could get this place going again.

I was all about the online activism, I just cant, I hate the internet now "phone verification" oh F off FU go to hell.

I'm being real negative just because after coming here right now I really see how much the net has changed. Don't like it.

This place brings back memories !

I'm sorry, I had to edit, longstanding forum guidelines on... inviting flame wars. We'll call it that. We discourage direct naming names when unhappy with other websites.

But I feel you. Everything's been algorithmised and social-media-ized. I don't like the state of the internet, either. It doesn't help that bot traffic has probably by now surpassed Human traffic. Half the internet traffic in 2024 was estimated to be non-human. I already have AI fatigue.

We're still working slowly towards an updated PF- but it'll still be the same basic place, a newer version of phpBB, mobile-friendly. It will allow for 'likes', if I recall correctly, but as far as I know still the traditional board, where you see the latest interactions at.. the top, or bottom- I think you can change that in the User Control Panel, actually, what order you'd like to see topics and posts. No algorithms deciding what you see and don't see. I'm hoping that once we have more mobile-friendly pages, people will start to participate more, I know from experience that looking here on a phone can be a bit of a chore, unless you have a browser app that wraps text as you zoom in- Opera does by default, I don't know who else.
We do not delete posts.

There is something truly uncanny and creepy when I look at AI stuff. It is a shame how humanity seems to want to betray itself with it. One of the reasons why I return to PsychForums is because it is one of the most human places online to me.

Even if it is not as active as it used to be, I still read threads on here and browse a lot. Thank you for all you do here Snaga, I hope PsychForums can become more active again too.
