I've found relaxation is best achieved indirectly when it comes to managing anger.

First list all reasons why you're angry, which will usually come in the form of an unmet need. Put them all down on a sheet of paper and talk to someone about what's on your list.

This will give you more emotional fluidity with the cause of your anger, which will naturally reduce your anger and therefore you'll be more relaxed.

From this headspace, meditation and relaxation work much better, too.

Great tips! In addition, it can also be helpful to avail the services of a therapist. They usually give activities and exercises which can help address those with anger management issues.

You don’t get rid of anger

You work out who or what is making you angry and deal with it and you won’t ned all those exercises

Some of the ways which I use to suppress or get rid of anger include:

1) I let my anger fizzle out with a bath-bomb.
2) I have created a universe of peace in your bedroom. So whenever I am angry I just go to my room and lie on the bed for some time till I am calm.
3) I take responsibility for your anger. I think what has happened has happened and no matter what I do now will affect anything that has already happened.
4) Whenever I get angry I remember that I will end up hurting myself. I may hurt someone with my words but later on, I will repent saying what I said when I was angry.
5) Repeat a happy mantra or count to 10, both these work like a charm.

Thanks everyone for the wonderful tips. I would also like to add some tips that helped me get rid of my anger and completely reduced my stress:

- Avoid politics, the news, and social media. Instead, watch comedy movies and shows.
- Avoid people who make you angry. Surround yourself with happy people.
- Avoid the idea that we're superheroes. The body and mind can only do so much in one day.

Aggression is very well extinguished by mental redirection of aggression. For example, when you walk past the benches in the street, you can hit them with all possible mental force.

Limiting screen time. Spending time in nature. Writing letters you don’t send—ripping them up instead (great way to use up scrap paper). Mindfulness meditation. Listening to anxiety audiobooks. Keeping journals. Making arts and crafts. Thinking about food you’d rather be eating. Gardening. Biking. Walking. Reading fiction. Reading picture books. Visiting library. Brushing animals. Combing scalp. Coloring. Making lists. Medications. Have medical provider order labs to screen for underlying physical condition. Eating whole foods. Staying hydrated. Cleaning. Organizing. Support groups. Taking responsibility. Yoga. Watching funny videos on YouTube.
