1. Yes

2. Yes

I had a new bully every school year through middle school. Well, come to think of it, I had a bully up to my freshman year in college. I'm bipolar, and develop extreme social paranoia in manias and mixed states. My therapist has suggested that this is rooted in my social experience in school. I also get deeply depressed whenever I feel "excluded," and feel I'm being excluded from things I can't reasonably expect to be a part of (birthday party for someone I don't know, friends talking about plans they have with each other). I generally perceive interactions with people to be more negative than they are-- thinking people are mad or annoyed at me for stupid reasons, that people think I'm strange or awkward. I'm also uncomfortable having casual friendships. I get upset knowing I have friends who don't consider me very important in their lives.

Dear Bird,

Thank you for your willingness to open up about your personal experience with bullying. I'm sorry for the pain it caused you. You and I have gone through similar situations, and I hope our sufferings will somehow benefit those who have been hurt or are being hurt right now. If you'd like to talk more about it, please feel free to PM me.

3. I am still dealing with the emotional effects of being teased and ridiculed mercifully in grade school. Seventh grade was the worst for me, and that is when my self injury and suicidal thoughts really kicked in. I still can't think about those years without getting emotional, and it has left me still, at the age of 26, with suicidal thoughts, depression and self injury. Being made to feel like I was nothing in grade school left me with extremely bad self esteem and virtually no self confidence, which made me very vulnerable in many situations. I was too afraid to be very social in high school, and the first guy who paid me any attention once I graduated ended up being emotionally and mentally abusive towards me. Which I accepted for 4 years. It has now left me in a pretty much reclusive state, with no self confidence, no self esteem, no friendships, severe depression, social anxiety, among other things, and still a desire to self harm as an escape. I would like to think I may have turned out differently if I wasn't a victim all throughout school, or if I had of had enough confidence to stand up for myself.
I want to be remembered as the girl who always smiles even when her heart is broken, and the one that could always brighten up your day even if she couldn't brighten her own.

1.)Yes 2.)Yes 3.)I remember the first to the last bully like flashbacks.Every nasty name I was called, everytime I was hit,had property taken or damaged or destroyed. The worst thing and the worst bully in my life has been my mother.Yesterday a friend told me not to repeat those names I was called becuase it is self abuse. It really is a bad habit.Am I supposed to just sit here while my mother smacks me in the head with her cane or tell someone? The thing I don't understand is: how to make it stop.I have earplugs in my ears and I dont look directly at most people.I refuse to converse about other people(gossip). So here I am gossiping.Bullies somehow get you to violate every moral standard you can set til there are no rules.

I am a social recluside and have no friends because of the way I was treated in school. I stay away from people. I skipped my 10 year HS reunion just this past july 3rd. Eff them.
