repeating self

Postby Aj1 » Sat Dec 03, 2011 11:03 am

So I have noticed (for a long time now) that I repeat myself in conversations. Not the same exact words over and over, but more like I have to say the idea I am trying to get across several different times. I suspect it might be annoying to others. I don't know why I do this. Is this a sz thing or just like, my wierd way of communicating?

I do this, a lot. I feel I have to, too. People always say "get to the point" or they ignore me now sometimes because they know its coming a conversation. Not quite sure why I do this either, though.

I do it too, all the time. I'm always saying, "you know what I mean?" and stuff like that. It always feels like I'm using the wrong words to express to someone what I'm trying to say. It usually only happens when the issue is really important to me for the other person to understand.

That is also an Aspergers idiosyncrasy. Myself i do this always and it annoys me but i can't help myself. AS and Schizo are almost identical in many aspects.
There's only two things I hate in this world. People who are intolerant of other people's cultures and the Dutch.

I notice repetition within the same conversation with a lot of people. I do it, the others do it. Different wordings = different approaches. When I notice someone repeating herself, I try to shift my attention, because: when I repeat myself, I feel not yet satisfied, I want to get to a point with the person I talk to, and I want a handshake. And the other way round.
Example: at my last house meeting we expelled a mate. He was absent. X said, it is no problem not to pay, but it is a problem not to communicate. Discussion went on, she repeated, and I gave her a handshake, answering we should act straight in our community. She nodded, point taken, next topic.
Does that sound schiz or weird? Have I missed your point?

no..actually..you are making perfect sense. I think if I felt "heard" I wouldn't keep repeating.

Ever since I got off anti-psychotic medication I've been repeating certain words and phrases, this has been happening for about a year or two now.
