Why?
Reminds me of a 'discussion' I had with my first wife about life insurance. I refused to take it out. My reasoning being that when I'm dead I will no longer care about the people I loved when I was alive, as I'll be dead.
This is interesting. You care about them while you are alive, but when you die, they don't suddenly cease to exist, nor their needs. If you die, you are not there to experience them or their needs or wishes. But you don't feel some need or desire to provide for the needs or desires of your loved ones after your death? Even if, since you're dead, you won't benefit in any way. In that sense I suppose its form of altruism.
