I can kinda see where they're coming from ("Joseph didn't feel like going to the grocery store that day, so he died of starvation, fin."). Though a schizoid might make for an interesting story where you just take a look at his life and put it in contrast to the normies.
The only fictional character I know who might actually be legitimately schizoid is Rei from NGE. All the others are always spiced up in one way or another.

I have seen the name Kant mentioned pretty often. He spent a year or two in isolation, and his work is pretty much about defining what is true or good without asking anybody. His work is pretty much emotionless too, so he would be my best choice. There was this philosophy student that once exclaimed: "this guy thinks people are robots!" lol

Great !
This gives me a nice occasion : read some Kant.
I sometimes think about reading some of his books, but never did it until now.
To be continued...

Kerouac was schizoid, I'm fairly certain.

Then we'll write our own stories -- with hookers, and blackjack.
It would take either a particularly dedicated non or a particularly motivated schizoid to write a fictional account of the disorder that is good and accurate. I'll put it on my to-do list.

Yes, it really is. I'd actually not seen it, but watched it as soon as I posted the link.

Writers are a bit of an exception I think because especially in the past, you haven't typically needed to be personally famous to be well known as a writer. Some very well known writers do seem to engage with their "fame" a bit more, but you definitely need to be able to keep up ongoing communication with agents/publishers etc.
I don't feel the need to let people know what its like to be me if they completely don't get it, but its not something I'd be completely against either in some ways. I do understand the appeal of creating something, accomplishing something, whether that's writing or a more social pursuit - (I don't actually want to be schizoid, because it holds me back in living my life.)
