Child pornography (cartoon images)

Does Bart nailing Lisa constitute child porn

Aussie convicted over Simpsons sex pics

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/12/08 ... eme_court/

Govt uses Obscenity Law to stuff up cartoon sex loophole

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2009/01/19 ... n_badness/

I'm all for protecting children, but this is ridiculous isn't it? I mean the simpsons porn is surely watched for comedy value. Who the hell in their right mind is going to be jerking off to something like that? Many people have things like that as avatars. Disney porn another one. According to this ruling, you can be convicted of owning child porn if a Disney character underage is having sex.

So a young Simba banging Mufasa form the Lion King = child porn. They're not even human FFS.

Alice from " Alice in Wonderland" getting it on with the mad hatter = child porn.

WILL SOMEONE PLEASE THINK OF THE FICTIONAL CHILDREN?!?!?

By making it illegal to possess cartoons the goverment is actually encouraging child porn. There are paedophiles out there which don't give a $#%^ about children and the only thing holding them back from downloading porn is the prison time. Cartoons is the only thing keeping them on the right side of the edge, but if they're going to be punished for that too what's stopping them from downloading the real thing?

They should focus on protecting real children instead of fictional children.

It's a very good point. At least with the cartoons nobody's getting harmed. The thing is, the simpsons porn is often watched by people just for amusement, I doubt many would be getting off on it. So basically, if you view this you could end up getting jail time and being put on the sex offenders register, and you may have no sexual interest in children.

I sometimes question the sanity of the people running our country.

Oh idk... cartoons can be quite pleasing with the right dialog. lol Really though... simpsons porn is just like Lolicon, shota, krezz korner (furry). Same thing. There all legal and yes some people find them exciting. Personally I think if someone is going to watch cartoon images rather then child porn let them. No one gets hurt, and that always a great thing.

I also found an article about virtual sex role play in which adults use child characters:
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2007/11/01/sickos_in_sadville/

So these are the points I've noticed were being made by the articles:

- CG or animated child porn, while mostly harmless in manufacture, may encourage pedophile urges and subsequently cause more abuse in real life. They admit that there has been no real connection found however between abuse rate and cartoon porn just as there has been no connection found between violence on TV and real life aggressiveness.

- Cartoon porn and video game porn, even while accessible only on adult websites, may still be used (downloaded presumably) to groom children for real abuse. Again, there is no proven connection.

- Cartoon porn is repulsive in the authorities' opinion, and socially unacceptable.

I personally had a crush on Lisa Simpson growing up. On occasion I've found some Lisa Simpson erotica that isn't total crap like most are, and I've readily used it to get off on. I've also done extensive online sexual role play, though not in Second Life, and unfortunately I took it way overboard.

Whether cartoon porn leads to child abuse (and I doubt it does), I believe all porn is nearly equal unless force or coercion was used in it's creation.

CG or animated child porn, while mostly harmless in manufacture, may encourage pedophile urges and subsequently cause more abuse in real life.

This is their excuse for everything. Even fantasies can lead to child abuse apperently, which I suppose is true to some extent, but not to the rational pedophile. A rational paedophile seeks out alternative methods, which don't hurt anyone. Cartoons/shotacon is one of those methods. They save more children than they destroy, I assure you. And If you take everything away from a rational man he may no longer be rational. Everyone needs a release.

When I say I believe all pronography is equal, I actually mean that I believe all pornography, lolicon and otherwise, is harmful to it's users. Many disagree, but that's my observation. I find my use of pornography a compulsory activity. One that I'm trying to quit without a ton of success. :P

I suppose everyone is different S3. It doesn't harm me. It's going to be illegal in the UK soon, so I'll have to stop (and also buy a new hard drive, yay!) I don't think I'll suffer any withdrawal symptoms, I don't even look at those images that often. If someone does find it harmful though, I guess it's a good idea to stop viewing them. Kudos to you for reconising it.

But what you're talking about S3 is porn addiction. That 's a seperate issue from child abuse.
Just wondering, do you agree with erotic litterature, or do you find that just as harmful?

It's great to hear you feel confident in your ability to stop using porn. Keep in mind that "not often" may constitute an addiction if it still disrupts your life in any way those times you do use it.

You pose a very good question. Seeing as I have an addictive personality, yes even literature is a risk for me, though I can't, or maybe don't want to, bring myself to believe that's it's as unethical as photographing real people performing erotic acts. The more I think about it the more I realize it gets close, except that it doesn't usually involve as many real life people. :| So despite the fact that books are uncensored in the US, I should probably not be advocating some of the books I've suggested. A few rationalizations let me justify it to myself though, namely that books are probably less damaging to my marriage relationship, and, if I choose to, I can always skip/skim the erotic parts and still enjoy a book for other reasons.

What do others here honestly think? Is making that distinction between erotic literature and photography just hypocritical, or is it valid, and why?

Just out of curiosity... does BDSM porn encourage rape?
Does regular porn encourage an average person of average intelligence to have an orgy with complete strangers out in the street?
Has civilization corroded into decadence because of porn, or does society breathe easier since its embrace of sexuality as being something natural that needs to be expressed?

There is a difference between 'expression' and 'act.' It is an act of violence to assault someone. It is an expression of violence to paint an angry picture or write a story that focuses on violence.
Both the "expression" and "act" work to release the pent up aggression. Only one is favorable for living in society.

This translates to sex quite easily.

It is an act of sex to go out and rape someone. It is an expression of sex to draw cartoons illustrating rape or to write a story that focuses on BSDM.
In both cases, sexual frustration is released, but only one does not involve hurting another individual.

----
It is a well known fact of psychology that emotions need to be expressed, and failure to express them results in deterioration of mental health and eventual expression of such emotions through inappropriate and even dangerous means.

As much as society may hate pedophiles... we still need a safe way to release these desires or we may all become child molesters under the strain of too much repression/oppression.
