Its a shame pedophiles can't get help until they hurt

I'm not sure it's the same situation, but I had a friend who talked to me once about finding child porn of her boy friend's computer. It was difficult for her too. She left the guy after she confronted him and he denied everything. I think it hurts anyone to see disturbing images like those, even more so in connection to a friend or close colleague. Talking about it here might help, and asking your colleague in a non-confrontational way might help you to get answers.

Yes, some crimes against children are caused by paedophiles that may also be disturbed (and if u think pedophiles are disturbed then ok, disturbed a different way too) but also child molesters or rapists that arent actually attracted to children. They like to harm the defenseless as part of whatever probloems they have. Children may be somebodys favorite target if theyfavor defenseless victims. Maybe thats why people think pedophile crimes are caused more often than actually? The amount of crimes against children arent actually all from actual pedophiles.

I like alot of what Blue Ribbon writes (although i havent seen ALL of his views)
We've still got a long way to go until society starts to adopt a more responsible approch to the common paedophile.

The poster of this thread was way out in his/her perceptions of a paedophile.

Being an exclusive pedophile and being that way for a good portion of my life I would say that trying to get help before you cross that line with a child is pretty bleak. I mean you can easily find a therapist to talk to and majority of the time you think they are judging you the entire time and in the back of there mind they think you have already acted on your desires or are viewing child pornography or etc. I wish there would have been like a mental hospital I could have checked myself into before acting out sexually with children. I sometimes feel like I shouldn't even have gotten out of prison for the things that I have done with the most precious people in our society. I was selfish and was always that way with my victims. I never cared about them until it was too late.

Why IS it so hard to get help? I've been trying to get help for a while now and it feels impossible. I was trying to get into a hospital but I don't have good enough insurance. With the way society acts like they want to prevent anything from happening to their children, you think they would try harder to treat people before they act out. So annoying.

I know this guy pretty well who has some years of experience studying counseling and also some familiarity with the paraphilias community; if you PM me a Skype name I'll ask him to add you and maybe you two can have an informal counseling session if you like?
