Do you feel like you "Fit In"?

Seriously.

Do you guys fit in with the crowd? I mean really fit in. Feel welcome with the people around you? They all feel pretty annoying but I do it. I act it out, I play the role and I am quite good at it. I can really make people think I am a great guy but sometimes I just cant do it and I say something pretty hurtful. I don't fit in with other people at all. Its a struggle. Is it like that for you guys?

I wear a mask and I fit in. What is going on in my head is not fitting in,I do not want to fit in and I feel I don't.but I fit in perfectly anyway but I want to leave and I do not like it.
I wish for a place that I would fit it for real and feel nice .But usually is nowhere.outside I can fit in very good with a mask .
Lately I am wondering if this feeling has to do with the false self that they are talking about.And not just the mask

Yeah yeah! that's what I meant. That's exactly what I am trying to say. I can act it, I can be that guy that is good with the crowd but I just don't FEEL it. I kinda despise it. I don't like anyone in general in those situations.

Does the feeling of distance bother you guys?

It feels like a game to me. It feels like some kind of skill that I am good at. I have to try. Sometimes when I get drunk my true self comes out and it turns people off. I don't think anything ever bothered me before about myself but now that I am self aware I am starting to realize some things do bother me because I realized they are dysfunctional ways of thinking.

I described to a therapist years ago -- it feels like I live in a glass bell. Or a birdcage. I can interact with others but not too closely.

Well. Not really. I don't think, feel and perceive the world the same way they do. It doesn't make sense to me. I don't want to be like them. I honestly feel like that is stupid. I feel like they are all chickens in a cage just running around and pecking each other and eating corn and I am a dog in there and I can cluck and bob my head and do all those other things but in the end I just different. Every now and the I bite a few because, well, that's what I do...
