Postby 44 » Thu Jul 20, 2006 9:35 pm

I found a good website on naricissistic personality disorder.

http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/narcis ... er/DS00652

Here's a breakdown:
Out of the following 9 features I have 7 (borderline I have 8/9)

Grandiose self image
Need of excessive admiration
Lack of empathy for other people
Arrogant behaviors- think I'm better than other people who are inferior to me
I believe that people are jealous of me
Fanatasies of having exceptional qualities- think I am a great dancer and dream of winning competitions
Manipulate other people to get what I want.

Share your narcissistic characteristics you posess.
Make sure to check out the link.

Who does someone with your particular character traits think a "good boy" is? I think all the "good girls" are taken, too. Actually, I do not think there are very many of either!

Are you still working on the breakdown of what you consider a good boy?

So, 44, I decided to make myself do what I am waiting for you to do...you know, the breakdown of characteristics of a good partner. Here is what I decided for me (and I had to look at various references to help me put it into words):

1) When we are together there is a general atmosphere of warmth, caring, empathy, kindness, and sharing of values.

2) She recognizes and appreciates my strengths as I do hers. (No big power struggles.)

3) She can freely express a wide range of feelings in an atmosphere of optimism.

4) Sexual relations are monogamous and satisfying to both of us.

5) Her daily patterns and routines compliment mine and help meet the needs of us both.

6) In the face of an unusual demand or stress, she is flexible with the change.

7) When conflicts or stressful situations arise, she can communicate and negotiate with me to help find solutions.

Since I am starting all over again, I thought I might as well shoot for the stars. (I realize I might die lonely, but I'll be available until then.)

Those were good. I commend you. Sorry for not getting back to you, I've been away.

Mine would be the same for you.
Let me add a few though

My lover would have to be able to accept the fact I do have a baby on the way

Sense of humor always a good thing

Never late for anything!! I mean this

Great in bed, up for masochistic sex

Any others feel free to add them.

Well, somehow I see a big mismatch between the "warmth, caring, empathy, and kindness" value and the "masochistic sex" preference. Guess you should remove one of those from your list. Sense of humor is good, though.

Perhaps when 44 is torturing her lover, she could laugh at him in a caring kid of way, and then let him know she knows how much it hurts.
