Friend has MPS? Long Version and TLDR

Postby TameQueen » Tue Apr 18, 2017 6:20 am

I have a friend who I'll call Janet. She is a mother of 2 children, and someone who I believe has MPS. Some background info: Shes an extremely manipulative, dishonest, and self-centered person. She
justifies all of actions (even if they are harmful), and is anorexic. Her children, age 2 and 4, are appeared to be a normal weight, but she rarely feeds them. Their biggest meal is their school lunch and she gives them snacks if any meals at all. She will not cook and only takes them out to eat. This is where it gets weird.

I'm fairly certain she underfeeds her kids as I've seen their fridge and its full, but of the same food for months, in the same spots. She never cooks it, and the same dirty dishes are always there. Her one son is constantly "sick", and has all of these issues that he has to go to many specialists for but they never find the root cause. He is taken back and forth to different doctors, and has a list of issues including asthma, cystic fibrosis, anxiety, constant colds and flu, sleep apnea, and dietary issues. That being said he is always eating junk. He was put in my care when his mom went out, and often had to be put on a CPAP machine, which she told he needs or he will DIE.

Well the mask was too big, and kept falling off. Btw I have asthma and central apnea, so I know what it looks like. I'm telling you that this kid has neither of these. He has no problem breathing, and does not gasp or snore. I have been there on several occasions and noticed this. The worst part is that she has convinced him that he is going to die, and even after the doctor told him her he doesn't have these issues, she continues with the CPAP and the "High-frequency chest wall oscillation" machine. There is always a new problem with this kid, and she has no problem telling everyone about it and how she is a good mother. She also has a huge interest in psychology and the medical field. Should I call CPS or is there nothing I can do? Can I reason with her? This is clearly an unhealthy environment for the children.

TLDR; My friend is underfeeding her kids, and creating a hypochondriac through doctor shopping and self-diagnosis.

That's a personal decision for you to make. She is your friend. Child Protection Services will take your call and you can report anonymously. They will open a report and an investigation after receiving the call.
Love yet violence, is yet love. I love you.

Don't know where you are or the rules that may apply, but maybe you should talk to " child protection" just to get it on the record.

Everyone is very reluctant to call MBP unless it is life threatening. It has cut short several medical careers. But it should go on record somewhere.
